Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Off their second album, Significant Other, released in 1999.
The video for "Break Stuff" won the MTV Video Music Award for The Best Rock Video in 2000. This was upsetting for Rage Against the Machine bassist Tim Commerford who, after hearing that their video for their 2000 single "Sleep Now In The Fire" didn't win, climbed on top of the stage, nearly dismantling it.
Stone Temple Pilots - Plush
Off their debut album, Core, released in 1992.
The lyrics to "Plush" were loosely based on a newspaper article Scott Weiland had read about a girl who had been found dead in an area outside of San Diego. Scott has also said that the song's lyrics are a metaphor for a failed relationship.
Cake - The Distance

"The Distance" became one of the band's biggest hits. On December 9, 1996, the album was certified gold, and the next year, the album was certified platinum for shipments of one million copies
