The 90s rocked! If you can’t remember the 90s, that’s alright…three in a row from the 90′s – 90′s @ 9 weekday mornings and night.
Tuesday Mornings 90′s Recap
Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing
Off their debut album, Core, released in 1992.
Scott Weiland was inspired to write the lyrics after an incident in which a girl he was dating was raped by three high school football players after a party. Thus, Weiland has stated the song is an anti-rape statement, not a song simply about sex, saying:
"This song is really not about sex at all. It's about control, violence and abuse of power."
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Suck My Kiss
Off their fifth album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, released in 1991.
The album's subject matter incorporated sexual innuendos and references to drugs and death as well as themes of lust and exuberance.. Suck My Kiss is about a kid in school who would always talk about how he was getting pleasured.
Buckcherry - Lit Up
Off their self-titled debut album, Buckcherry, released in 1999.
It was ranked #98 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs in December, 2008.
