If you have ever wanted to learn how to draw your own cartoon character, join in this workshop and learn what it takes be an illustrator and author of your own book.  The workshop will include character and story outline development, comic drawing techniques, and layout options, as well as comic book history and artists. It will be useful if students bring a short story to work with and/or any existing artwork they may want to use. Basic materials will be provided. The workshop will be presented by Shayann Hoffer. She works with youth in the areas of drawing, painting, cartooning, still-clip animation and sculpture. There will be a spaghetti dinner/meat raffle/live auction benefit for Cliff Hilsgen on Saturday May 1. Serving and meat raffle runs from 3 to 7pm. The live auction begins at 7:15. Adult tickets are $10 in advance, $11 at the door. Tickets for kids ages nine and under can only be purchased at the door for $8. Advance tickets can be bought at any Liberty Savings Bank in the area.
