ATTN Dudes: Chicks Hate The ‘Average’ Date!

I always try to plan something fun when I’m preparing for a date, especially if it’s a first date.  You definitely don’t want to come on too strong, too soon – but you also don’t want to seem like you’re just going through the motions.  Women want a man that will listen to them, but they also want a man who is somewhat entertaining, and unpredictable.

Which leads me into something I read last night, about the average American ‘date’.  A date should be; fun, something you look forward to, something that you feel will be special.  A date should NOT be; boring, predictable, routine.  Every date should be unique, from which it should be easy to recount the evening, and any noteworthy memories thereof.

So this really bothers me.  The average date in America between single adults, goes as follows.  A pizza, three glasses of wine, and a kiss on the cheek – usually on a Thursday or Friday night.  That’s it.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with pizza, wine, or kisses on the cheek – but I am saying that if you like that girl, you’d better try a little harder than that, Bro!

First impressions are very important.  Did you know that a woman knows within 10 seconds of meeting you, whether she will ever sleep with you, or not?  And it won’t help your cause, if you plan a date that she has already been on several times.

In fact, it is a good idea to try and do something that she has never done before, for that first date.  Talk to her beforehand, figure out what her interests are, and plan accordingly.  Your interests can be addressed later.  You want to make sure that she has a good time, first and foremost.

Here are a few very important tips, from an old dude with a ton of experience, both good and bad.

Be Yourself – NO B.S. — A lot of guys make the mistake of lying to a woman about all sorts of things, trying to impress her.  Big, big, mistake.  Be yourself, be at your best, but definitely be yourself.  You want her to like the ‘real’ you, not the ‘fake’ you.  Don’t make up a bunch of things about your; salary, friends, family, car, apartment, etc. – that she may eventually find not to be true.  Once a woman thinks you are a liar, it is extremely hard to change her mind.  Be yourself, and let the chips fall where they may.

Friends First — Most women HATE a man that is too forward about things relating to sex.  Do not be too aggressive with this subject – most women need to feel comfortable around you, before they open up a bit.  It’s way more important that she knows you are a great guy, than a great lay.  She will remember, and be impressed, that you DID NOT use any cheesy pick up lines.  Make your compliments genuine, and thoughtful.

No Alcohol – Yes guys, we have all had those nights when we just wanted to get drunk, then get lucky!  And we all know that a few drinks can certainly calm the nerves, and help you relax.  But getting hammered on that first date can be a disaster.  You won’t get to know each other, except that you both like to party.  You are much more likely to say, and do, things that you will regret later, when you’re drunk.  And if she’s the kind of chick that HAS to be drunk every time you go out, or every night – run for the hills, because that is trouble!

Plan The Next Date – After a while, and assuming the date is going well, make sure that you ‘lock’ her up for another date.  Don’t bug her with constant calls and text messages about going out again when the date’s over – get that worked out asap.  Tell her you would love to take her out again sometime soon – whenever it’s convenient for her.  Then you won’t seem desperate……even if you may be.

Good luck guys, but remember – taking dating advice from me – is like taking advice from Tiger Woods on being faithful – so proceed with caution.  LOL
