Now, it seems like a more permanent reunion may be a possibility. In a new interview, Korn guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer revealed that he, and perhaps the entire band, is open to the idea.

Echols is one of the West Memphis Three, a trio of young men who were convicted of murder without solid evidence to back it up. After much support from artists such as Manson and new discoveries such as upgraded DNA testing, which did not place any of the West Memphis Three at the scene of the crime, the three were released last year.

In a recent radio interview with Minneapolis radio station 93X, Mustaine spoke about the proposed supergroup with Megadeth bassist David Ellefson and Metallica‘s James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich that he spoke about last year.
