Blacking Out Doesn’t Always Mean You Were The Drunken Fool

Troubles remembering what you did Saturday night? Yea you probably got drunk, but you know you didn’t drink that much. Might sound like an excuse but it’s true. Some of us were just born stupid, I mean…Some of us were just born with slower brains.
In all seriousness, people who paid a lot of money for a piece of paper and fix us when we accidentally try to stop the lawnmower blade with our bare hands actually make sense, and a bunch of dollars. A new study using MRI brain scans show that some of us just have a brain that is prone to losing memories when under the influence. That sounds like a new excuse to forget someones name if you ask me!
“Alcohol seems to act as a chemical ‘switch’ in a brain region which ‘encodes’ memories — and some are more vulnerable than others. ‘Our study’s findings suggest that some people are more likely to experience alcohol-induced blackouts than others due to the way alcohol affects brain activity in areas involved in self-monitoring, attention, and working memory.”
Well said Reagan R. Wetherill from the University of California.
So does this just give us poor fools an excuse or should we take note and just not drink as much? To each their own I say. Cheers!
