The musician died after spending four years in either a coma or semi-conscious state as the result of a devastating 2008 car accident. After reactions and condolences from many in the rock community, the first official statement from Deftones themselves came today via a message from the band's guitarist Stephen Carpenter.

Chi was in a bad car accident back in 2008 that ejected him from the vehicle and left him in a coma. He made some progress back in 2010 that allowed him to return home for recovery

Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band will embark on a summer U.S. tour that will feature fan-friendly ticket prices. The trek kicks off June 28 in Bristow, Va. and will wind around the country before wrapping up Sept. 15 in Tampa, Fla.
