Dave Grohl Gives Tour Of Home Studio

The Foo Fighters have been one of my favorite bands for a long time, and this is one of many reasons why. Dave Grohl is one of the most down to earth dudes I have never met. Although I have had opportunities to meet him I never did, but form what friends tell me and what I see he is a cool cat. I love the way he is so passionate about his music and what he does. What band these days takes the time and effort to record an album using analog equipment? Not many is that answer to that trick question. I cannot wait to hear the new album. Here is what NME.com reported on their site.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has given an exclusive video tour to NME.com of the home studio in his garage where he and the band recorded their seventh album, due for release this spring. Although Grohl owns a full-service, state-of-the-art studio north of Los Angeles, he explained on the video why he decided to set up shop in his garage and record the album on tape and not digitally:
“I kind of like it when things sound a little bit chaotic, and this garage, plus those tape machines, has made our record sound unlike any other Foo Fighters record. You hear it, and you instantly recognize it as a Foo Fighters song, but it just sounds so badass because it’s a garage. This room shouldn’t be the kind of place where you would make a record, but that’s kind of why we did it.”
