Detroit Lions Fans Are Upset That Nickelback Was Chosen to Play the Thanksgiving Halftime Show

Nickelback has been chosen to play the Thanksgiving Halftime Show when the Detroit Lions take on the Green Bay Packers. Good idea, or not?
Not would be the answer to MANY Lions fans. People are pissed off that Nickelback will be there. So pissed off that there is an online petition asking the band the be replaced.
One fan offers up his explanation…
“This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the U.S. to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs. The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime.”
With only five and a half minutes to perform, guitarist Ryan Peake tells fans they don’t even know what they will be performing.
“I’m not even sure if we’ve decided that yet, but it’s gonna be, I would say it’s probably a drinking or sex song? We’re gonna take a pick. I’m not sure which one. Maybe two drinking songs or two sex songs. I’m not sure.”
Can he say they are not sure ONE MORE TIME? Anyway, I love how people are so opinionated on what goes on. It’s like they expect the Halftime Show to be performed just for them. You can not please everyone. Could they have chosen better? Sure, but it all depends on who you ask. They could have chosen MUCH worse!
And really, is this really the most embarrassing thing Detroit Lions’ fans have had to endure in the past decade?
