Pop Evil’s New Track “Last Man Standing” To Be Played During Super Bowl
We just started playing this song last week and it RIPS!! Apparently the NFL things so too. Here is the story from Pulse Of Radio.
Pop Evil has been in the envious position of having its current single, “Last Man Standing,” licensed by Fox Sports for use during the NFL playoffs, and the band also recently discovered that the tune will be played on the air during this Sunday’s (February 6th) Super Bowl extravaganza. Singer Leigh Kakaty told us that the Michigan-based band still can’t believe it’s happening:
“Obviously we’re huge football sports fans, and when we heard that, we definitely were excited. And to have Fox kind of embrace the song, I mean that’s — kind of when we were writing it, we envisioned the NFL and the NBA kind of taking it on. It was crazy, I remember we were all around the TV when the Packers beat the Bears there and, you know, we heard it come on and they actually used all the lyrics as well. I mean, it was an exciting time. We’re stoked to see what the Super Bowl brings.”
The Super Bowl festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. ET this Sunday, February 6th, on Fox.
“Last Man Standing” is taken from Pop Evil’s sophomore album, War Of Angels, which was due out on February 8th but currently does not have an official release date.
The group’s debut disc, Lipstick On The Mirror, was issued in 2008 and featured the radio hit “Hero.”
Pop Evil is scheduled to join Rev Theory, Hail The Villain and others later this month on the Monster Outbreak Tour, which kicks off on February 16th in Phoenix.
