REV Rock Quick Hits: Record Day Approaches, Paramore Singer Reveals Something, Limp Bizkit Sets Date
As Record Store Day (April 16th) approaches, more acts are adding limited edition exclusives to the list of items that will be on sale at participating independent record stores on the big day. Green Day and Husker Du are issuing a split seven-inch-single, while the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Ramones both perform the latter band’s “Havana Affair” on another split single. Pearl Jam and R.E.M. are both issuing seven-inch singles featuring rare tracks, while Foo Fighters and Deftones are putting out complete albums consisting of cover songs. (AntiMusic)
Paramore singer Hayley Williams revealed in an interview with Cosmopolitan that she got a tattoo on her leg that reads “Shave Me” with a picture of a razor next to it. Williams apparently has gone without shaving her legs for weeks on tour, admitting, “The guys would pull up my pants and write ‘Shave Me.’ Eventually, I got it tattooed on as a little reminder.” Fans can check out Williams’ presumably smooth gams on this summer’s Warped Tour. Limp Bizkit’s new album, Gold Cobra, has had its release date delayed to June 28th — although, to tell you the truth, we didn’t know the thing had an arrival date in the first place. The first full-length album since 2000 to feature the band’s original lineup is apparently the first of two the band has recorded. Frontman Fred Durst recently revealed that rappers Lil Wayne and Raekwon, along with Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, are guests on the record. (Rock Access)
A Green Day fan is starting a petition to have Green Day perform a massive concert on the Great Lawn in New York City’s Central Park. There’s no word on whether such a concert has been discussed, but in the meantime you can visit the petition and sign it here if you like.
