Contender #1: Incubus
ncubus is an American rock band from Calabasas, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer Jose Pasillas while enrolled in Calabasas High School and later expanded to include bassist Alex “Dirk Lance” Katunich, and Gavin “DJ Lyfe” Koppell; both of whom were eventually replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore respectively.
Incubus has attained commercial success, reaching multi-platinum sales, as well as releasing several successful singles. The band earned mainstream recognition with the release of their 1999 album Make Yourself which spawned the popular singles “Pardon Me” and “Stellar”. In 2001, Incubus became even more successful with the single “Drive” and their follow-up album Morning View which included the popular hits “Wish You Were Here“, “Nice to Know You” and “Warning”. Their sixth studio album, Light Grenades, debuted at No. 1 in 2006 and has received Gold certification in the U.S. Incubus released their first greatest hits album Monuments and Melodies in June 2009, accompanied by a tour of the United States, Japan and Canada. The band’s most recent album, If Not Now, When?, was released on July 12, 2011. Incubus also released the EP Trust Fall Side A in 2015 and has plans to release their eighth studio album, titled 8, in 2017. Incubus has sold over 23 million albums worldwide.
The band reconvened in 2016 to work on their 8th full-length studio album. On February 16, 2017, the lead single “Nimble Bastard” was released, and it was announced that the new album would be titled 8, with a projected spring 2017 release date. A summer 2017 tour was also announced with Jimmy Eat World and Judah & the Lion supporting. The band is currently working on a collaboration with Skrillex that has yet to be released.

Contender #2: Motionless in White
Motionless in White, often abbreviated MIW, is a Gothic metal band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2005, the band consists of Chris “Motionless” Cerulli (lead vocals), Ricky “Horror” Olson (rhythm guitar), Devin “Ghost” Sola (bass), Ryan Sitkowski (lead guitar), and Vinny Mauro (drums). The band has stated that their band name derived from the Eighteen Visions song “Motionless and White“.
Motionless in White was signed to Fearless Records for their first three studio albums; their most recent, Reincarnate, was released on September 15, 2014 in United Kingdom and then on September 16, 2014 worldwide.
In July 2016, the band signed to Roadrunner Records, achieving their lifelong dream of signing with the company.
In October 2016, the band announced that they will be releasing their new album, Graveyard Shift, in early 2017. In January 2017, the band announced a new single “Eternally Yours”, along with the release date for the record, which is May 5, 2017. On 3rd March the band released the album’s track list and album art, followed by the release of their new single, “Loud (F*ck It).”
