Stars Align; Twins Beat Angels 5-0

There may be hope yet for this year’s Twins team. Maybe. Winning last night in the second of three games against the Angels at Target Field is a step in the right direction. The win also ends a three-game losing streak.
Scott Diamond was on the mound for the Twins and threw 7 shutout innings with 4 hits and 1 walk allowed with 6 strikeouts to get the win. Ryan Doumit hit a 2-run home run and Brian Dozier was 2-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI for the Twins. Dan Haren allowed 8 hits and 5 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss for L.A.
The Twins are now at a dreadful 8-21 and will host the Angles in the third and final game of this series at Target Field tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.
Righthander Carl Pavano (2-2) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Ervin Santana (0-6) get the ball for the Angels.
