The Saying A Penny Saved Is A Penny Earned Is Taken To A New Level

You might think saving pennies are worthless. After-all they are only worth ONE Cent. After hearing this news story I am going to continue to collect my pennies in an old pickle jar in hopes of finding one that is worth Millions.
A penny that was minted in 1793 just sold for more than $1.38 Million at a Florida auction. One Cent turned into Millions. How is that possible?
The penny sale is the most a U.S. copper coin has ever sold for at an auction. The 1793 penny was made during the first year that the U.S. made its own coins and is rare because it was never in circulation.
So laugh at those of us who save our pennies. We will be laughing at you when we find a rare one. Highly unlikely as it may be, but here’s hoping we come across one!
