The Stupidest Law Ever!

Lawmakers in Massachusetts have officially lost their collective minds. In the town of Middleboro – they are about to start enforcing the stupidest law I’ve ever heard of.
Any person that SWEARS IN PUBLIC will now be subject to a $20 fine.
That’s right – you can now get a ticket, and have to pay a fine – for saying a bad word in public.
I understand the concept, and the reasoning. And I certainly applaud the attempt to clean things up a bit. But this will be a disaster, without question.
Not only will all citizens hate this law, but how are you going to enforce it?
Do we, the general public, really have to worry about the local authorities “sneaking up” on us – trying to catch us swearing in public? Are you serious? There absolutely has to be more important things for our police to be doing, than monitoring that crap!
Are the police going to go watch every high school football practice this fall – and bust all the coaches for swearing at their team?
How many tickets would the cops write, if they just went to a Vikings or Twins game?
Will the police show up at the local bars on Friday and Saturday nights – busting everyone that they hear use bad language?
It’s rediculous.
This would be the perfect kind of program to apply in a middle school, or high school – where you could take a student’s “points”, “gold stars”, etc. away from them. And, at the same time, reward them for watching their mouth.
But it’s NEVER going to fly in the REAL WORLD with GROWN-UPS!
The folks in Middleboro are about to be pissed off for a very long time!
