Flickr, Arturo de Albornoz
Let's face it, there are some really sweet jobs out there. Like a food taster, or one that comes up with new games and toys. On the flip side, there are some horrible job out there too. This 'blog' is dedicated to FIVE of the Worst Jobs in the St. Cloud area. If you do one of these jobs, thank you for taking one for the team. Someone has to do it, glad it's not me.

Dog Poop Clean-Up

I don't even like picking up my dogs poop. It's smelly, and really disgusting to pick up fecal matter. Granted, I use one of the claw things (very technical term here) to pick up the crap so I don't have to get up close to it. But, it still smells. If you do this for a living to make some extra bucks, more power to you!! If you do it to fill your free time, quit! Make the lazy owner pick it up themselves, especially if they have more than one dog. In all seriousness, it's great that this is available for those that can't bend over to pick up the poop themselves (i.e. senior citizen, disabled...) Check out Oppie Scoopies in the area if you are in need of this service! This is one job I wouldn't want to do, one dog who craps is enough for this chick.

Newspaper Delivery

While it's great that we can stay caught up on local and national news, having to deliver those papers on a daily/weekly basis is a pain in the ass. My mother once did this for two years for extra money. Why it sucks? You gotta get up early in the morning, you are constantly stopping and going in your vehicle. My mom wrecked a car because of this. And on Sunday's if you deliver the Times, having to put the inserts in, that is too much work  early in the morning. All types of weather, customers, and their specific way on where they want their paper. Place in between the screen and front door, by the garage door, always in a bag, hang it on the door handle....You can stay caught up on Local News HERE if you want, it's FREE!

Home Repair Services

Another one of the jobs that sucks but we are all glad someone does it. Backed-up sewer, duct work, clogged drains, fixing air conditioners in a house that feels like its 120 plus degrees. More power to you if you work in this field! Being a single chick and not knowing how to fix anything myself, thank you for helping me out when I needed you the most! And, thank you for not judging me for having a pink tool kit! If you need work inside or outside your home dealing with heating an air conditioning, check out Opie's or if you are having plumbing issues, check out Rotor Rooters.

Gold N Plump

This is a job you could not pay me millions to do!!! Plucking the feathers off the chicken, boiling the chickens...you get the idea. I drive past the Gold N Plump plant twice a day, and the smell that comes from that building makes me want to lose my lunch. I have a car air-freshener that comes in handy when the death of chicken smell is in the air, its glued to my nose on a daily basis! I've had friends try and work in a chicken plant and they don't make it past week one. It's not even the fact that I'm an animal lover that doesn't eat meat, I worked in a deli in high school and fried that up like no ones business. But, I got the after the chicken plant product. Chicken lovers around the country thank you for providing them with their meat!
