Well I feel this is how the whole season is going to go, couple losses then a win, couple wins then more losses.  Either way the Twins are now 9-23 on the season after last night’s close call with the Blue Jays.

It was a true team effort to get the win last night at Target Field.  Toronto hit four homers, including two from Jose Bautista.  Closer Matt Capps was able to get Bautista to pop up with the tying run on third to preserve the Twins fourth win in the last 18 games.

Ron Gardenhire said,

It was a very exciting night around here, the guys were really into it. We were laughing and joking and that’s the way it’s supposed to be. It was a tight ballgame, but they were able to enjoy a baseball game, which is nice to see.

The Twins got the early lead  against right-hander Kyle Drabek, with Ryan Doumit scoring two runs in the first on a two-run single.  The Twinkies added four more in the fifth, with a bloop double from Josh Willingham and the Chris Parmelee brought home a run with a bases-loaded walk before Darin Mastroianni brought in runs with his first major league hit.  Mastroianni, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs in his third career game.

The Twins take on Toronto in third game of this four-game series at Target Field tonight at 7:10, with the pre-game on WJON at 6:40.
