Twins Comeback Again Late in the Game; Win Series Against Angels
Nice to see the Twins win their series opener this year. The lost the first game against the Angels but battled back yesterday and today to take two of three at home.
The Twins again had to came back from a 6-0 deficit to beat the Angels, and did so barely by a score of 10-9 at Target Field. Justin Morneau hat a hot bat and hit a 2-run home run in the Twin’s 4-run 8th inning. Joe Mauer also was hot and hit 3-run dinger and Josh Willingham added 3 hits, including a solo homerun. Denard Span was 4-5 with a run and 1 RBI for the Twins. Jeff Gray recorded just 1 out for the win and Matt Capps allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs in the 9th inning for the save.
Francisco Liriano started the game and allowed 7 hits and 5 earned runs in 5 innings. The Twins are now 2-4 and start a three game series against the Texas Rangers Friday night at 7:10. Righthander Anthony Swarzak (0-1) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Matt Harrison (1-0) toes the rubber for the Rangers.
