Linkin Park brought the rock at this year’s Billboard Music Awards tonight (May 20) in Los Angeles by performing their new single ‘Burn It Down‘ off their upcoming album ‘Living Things’ (due June 26).

With smoke on the floor and flames bursting in the background, singer Chester Bennington belted out the tune as the rest of guys backed him up on an industrial-looking stage set-up. Rhyme-slinger Mike Shinoda chimed in about halfway through the song with his rap verses.

On a night that was dominated by pop, R&B and hip-hop, Linkin Park represented the rock world with a powerful performance. The televised gig offered a preview of what fans can expect on the band’s upcoming trek with Incubus on this summer’s Honda Civic Tour, which kicks off Aug. 11 in Bristow, Va.

We seriously doubt the elderly gentleman in the video below has an iPad. He does have a chainsaw, however. And that works just fine.

Startlingly efficient. Yet, at the same time, we were sort of hoping for more of a mess.

There are a ton of guys out there who claim to have no shame in their game, but Wisconsin resident Bill Wisth takes the cake… or should we say all-you-can-eat fish fry. The 6’6,” 350 lbs. mountain of a man claims he had 12 pieces of fried fish before a supposedly “all you can eat” seafood restaurant — ‘Chuck’s Place’ — tried to persuade him to leave with an additional eight pieces to go.

Mr. Wisth was so upset by the restaurant’s “false advertising” that he’s dedicated most of his time to picketing outside the eatery, which claims they literally ran out of fish on the busy Friday night he was served.

According to Chuck’s, the now-banned fried fish lover has been a thorn in their side, accumulating a tab he hasn’t paid off yet. A tab? For food? This guy’s like Norm from ‘Cheers.’ This could be the most classic case of biting the hands that feeds you we’ve ever seen.

We have a feeling the folks at Long John Silver’s and Red Lobster are rubbing their flippers and/or claws together at the opportunity to satisfy Mr. Wisth’s voracious appetite.

Of course, Mr. Wisth reminds us of another hungry man who was turned away from an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet.

If it’s true that in space no one can hear you scream, it’s especially true for the star of P.O.D.‘s new video for ‘Lost in Forever (Scream).’

The veteran band returns after several years away with their latest single, and the Spence Nicholson-directed video finds them relegated to the desert-like climate of a foreign planet. While the group performs their new single, they are joined by an astronaut wandering the terrain in search of signs of life.

While on his mission, he comes across the likeness of his onetime love in a small red nighty, but every time he gets close, she disappears and he gets further lost in his memories of the past, mirroring the lyrics of the song. After several near misses, the astronaut finally catches up to his love, but is her existence real or merely in his mind? It’s up to the fatigued explorer to figure it out.

‘Lost in Forever (Scream)’ is the new single from the band’s ‘Murdered Love’ album. The disc drops July 10 and is currently available for pre-order in multiple bundle packages at their website. ‘Murdered Love’ sees the band reuniting with their ‘Satellite’ producer Howard Benson, and recapturing some of the sound that catapulted their career last decade.

The group return to the road May 16 in Milwaukee, with shows lined up through early August. After that, they’ll join the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival in mid-August and will finish out their year on the ShipRocked Cruise in late November.

Just last month, Linkin Park showed off a volcanic Chester Bennington in the lyric video for their new single ‘Burn It Down.’ Now they’re sharing how the effect was created with a behind-the-scenes clip.

In a new video posted for their fans, the group members reveal the full 360 degree body scan process they underwent to achieve the special effect from the clip. The group created their parts at Los Angeles’ Gentle Giant Studios back in late February, and it’s clear they kind of geeked out on the process a bit.

Singer Chester Bennington jokes, “I’m finally the center of the universe,” as a digital camera circles his head. The follicly-challenged frontman got off fairly easy during the process, especially when compared to bushy-haired guitarist Brad Delson, who had to don a skull cap in order for his scan to take.

In the video, it’s explained that the scan captures the texture of the face, while shooting light waves against the surface and bouncing back to create the image, which the director can then apply whatever element they want to create the final look. Co-vocalist Mike Shinoda says, “That’s so crazy. I didn’t expect them to look so much like us.”

Shinoda also unearthed a cool little revelation during his body scan, as he noticed the mat was “squishy.” The person guiding him through the process revealed that creators added some extra foam for Lady Gaga, who was “in a unique position” when her personal scan took place for a separate project.

‘Burn It Down’ is the lead single from the ‘Living Things‘ album. The disc is due June 26 and fans can pre-order the effort at the band’s website. Linkin Park will join Incubus on the Honda Civic Tour this summer, launching Aug. 11 in Bristow, Va. They also have an exclusive May 18 benefit show for their LP Underground fan club members at Los Angeles’ House of Blues. Proceeds from the show will aid Music For Relief’s ‘Power the World’ initiative.

Coleman Shannon was born without a right hand and forearm, due to a medical condition called Amelia, but that hasn’t slowed him down from chasing his baseball dreams. In fact, the 14-year-old left-handed pitcher recently threw a no-hitter in a Johnsonville, SC little league game.

Don’t believe us? Watch the footage for yourself.

“The other night, when he pitched the no-hitter, that was a tearful moment,” Kyle Daniel, one of Shannon’s proud coaches, said. “When you think about what he’s been through and how much it’s taken him just to get to this point, when he went out and threw the no-hitter, it was just a cheerful time for everyone.”

Shannon does way more than pitch and field — he’s an accomplished hitter who went 2-for-2 and delivered the game-winning hit in another little league matchup last week.

Oh, and did we mention he also knows how to play the guitar and hunt? When he was 2, he rejected his prosthetic arm and has since proved he never needed it to begin with.

They can’t, they don’t and they won’t stop — and then they did stop.

Nobody can fill the extra-large Adidas sneakers favored by the Beastie Boys, but the Roots, Kid Rock and Travie McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes nobly did their best last month when the B-Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Adam “MCA” Yauch called in sick at the 11th hour — Yauch’s mom later revealed he was admitted into the hospital that very night as he continued to battle cancer, a battle that sadly ended Friday (May 4) when Yauch passed away at the age of 47.

With the Beasties unable to perform, Kid Rock, Travie McCoy and Roots MC Black Thought hit the Cleveland stage (with the rest of the Roots backing them instrumentally) on April 14 properly attired — head-to-toe in green Adidas track suits — and went for it, performing a medley of Beasties hits.

Opening with longtime Beasties DJ Mixmaster Mike working the decks (and adding a direct link to the band being honored), the stand-in trio quickly launched in to ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn,’ and then flowed through snippets of ‘So What’cha Want,’ ‘Sabotage,’ The New Style’ and ‘Rhymin’ & Stealin’.’

While energetic and pretty note-for-note dead-on, their set also unintentionally highlighted just how one-of-a-kind the Beasties are. All three rappers nailed their parts, but the songs just don’t sound quite right without MCA, Mike D and Ad-Rock rocking the mic. They can’t, they don’t and they won’t stop. Period.

The five-and-a-half-hour long Rock Hall induction ceremony didn’t air live, but instead was edited down to a more palatable two-and-a-half-hour highlights reel that was broadcast Saturday night (May 5) on HBO. Professionally shot footage from that special has yet to surface online — we’re looking and will throw it up here once it does — but in the meantime there’s still plenty of fan-shot footage out there on YouTube. It’s all a little shaky, but the sound is stellar and you still get the drift. Check it out below.

A woman in South Carolina apparently is a pool shark. Early Saturday morning this chick hits up a pool hall at 3:30 with the baby along for the ride. Instead of calling a babysitter, or simply staying home for the night because you can’t find anyone to watch your kid, this chick left her baby in the car! According to the police report, the baby was in the car for 90 minutes; but, the baby wasn’t alone.

The trusty babysitter was the dog, locked in the car with the baby. The chick told the police that it was OK because she had her dog there for protection. Clearly this is wonder-pup. He can ward of strangers, protect the baby from getting hurt if a stranger came in the car, could rock the baby back to sleep and provide oxygen because lets just assume all the windows were rolled up too. What drugs is this chick on?

Ceremonial first pitches can be quite entertaining, especially if the luminary selected to do the honors doesn’t have enough arm to complete the toss. But just about the last word one would associate with the tradition is “creepy.”

Thanks to Japan, now a creepy first pitch is a thing.

The odd-looking woman below starred as a ghost in the seminal Japanese horror film ‘Ringu.’ (Which was remade as ‘The Ring’ with Naomi Watts for English-speaking audiences.) As you can see, she remains in character during her pitch.

Let’s venture into the world of rock for today’s crush, the lissome Sharin Foo of the Raveonettes.

The Danish rock duo have spent the last decade dropping their unique blend of old-school vocal harmonies paired with intense guitar distortion and sheets of noise. It’s amazing how much volume two people can dish out. Sharin Foo handles bass, guitar and vocals while her long-time band mate Sune Rose Wagner does much of the same. They do bring in a drummer and a second bass player for live shows, but they almost don’t need them.

Foo currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter, and is working on a new Raveonettes album at the legendary Sunset Sound studio.

The band’s new EP, ‘Into The Night,’ drops today. Listen to the title track below while you look at pictures of the lovely Sharin Foo.

On Sunday, a nine-year-old named Hunter was fishing with his dad off the coast of Galveston, Texas and they caught a shark! The video is on YouTube, and the crazy part is they were in a kayak when they hooked it.

It looks like it was about five or six feet long, but they released it after they caught it. And it’s actually the second shark Hunter and his dad have caught in the last eight months. They caught a seven-footer in August.

Linkin Park spark excitement for TNT’s coverage of this year’s NBA playoffs with their song ‘Burn It Down’ in a new promo that also features a sneak peek at the upcoming music video for the track.

It’s been a good week for Linkin Park fans: Not only did they get a new song, the skinny on the new album ‘Living Things’ and dates for the band’s upcoming tour with Incubus — now they get more of Linkin Park in the new promo for TNT’s NBA playoff coverage.

The clips of the music video appears to be rather straightforward as far as LP videos go: Gone are the high-tech CGI effects and Transformers of videos past, and in their place is simply a band, some lights and a fog machine. Perhaps the video is a symbolic representation of the back to basics approach the band employed on ‘Living Things.’ “The record gets back to our roots and it’s captured a feeling that we haven’t gone after in many years,” co-frontman Mike Shinoda told NME recently.

The promo clip splices footage of the band with shots of such NBA players as Amare Stoudemire, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose and LeBron James delivering inspirational words leading up to the 2012 playoffs.

‘Living Things’ hits stores on June 26 and is the follow-up to Linkin Park’s 2010 multi-concept album ‘A Thousand Suns.’ The lead single ‘Burn It Down’ is available for download now. Check out our review of the tune here.

Even though there are several male cheerleaders in High School, are they necessary for the big leagues? Being a chick, I don’t mind having half naked women rev up the crowd or do a little dance here, hell if I had the body I would maybe even try out for the Vikings squad. But this guy is trying to be the first NFL male cheerleader.

All rude comments aside, at least this guy is following his dreams. His name is Sacha Heppell, and sadly he didn’t make the squad. He did have the moves, just a little sloppy. He gets an A for team spirit though! And yes, ANYONE can try out to be on the squad, but it’s up the the judges to determine the best.

Meet Anna Hutchison, the New Zealand-born actress who got her start on soap operas in her tiny nation, spending two years on the show ‘Shortland Street’ as Delphi Greenlaw. She’s also one of the proud soldiers to have worn the uniform of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in ‘Power Rangers Jungle Fury.’ Here is Anna looking ridiculously delicious in the  mini-series ‘Underbelly – A Tale of Two Cities’ where she had more than a few naked scenes.

Hutchison divides her time between Los Angeles and New Zealand, doing a few film projects a year while holding onto a role on the Kiwi dramedy ‘Go Girls.’ You’ll also soon see her on Starz’s historical epic ‘Spartacus’ in the upcoming third season.
