You Can’t Fix Stupid – Woman Caught Stealing Soda Because She Didn’t Empty The Cans
If you recycle cans you know it’s easier to put them in the machine empty, right? Well this 36-year-old woman from Massachusetts didn’t know that.
Tina went to a local grocery store and bought more than a dozen 12-packs of soda for $64 using a welfare debit card. No big deal, except for the fact that the welfare card was stolen!
It wasn’t her plan to bring the soda home to drink, she wanted to do the right thing and recycle the cans and make some extra cash. But, her little brain didn’t think to empty the cans first.
Before leaving the store, Tina walked right over to the can return machine so she could get five-cents back for every can. (Let’s use simple math here. She bought 18 12-packs of soda equaling 216 cans. At five-cents per can that equals $10.80. Not even an $11 profit from purchasing soda on a stolen welfare debit card.) But $10 is $10 in the end.
Tina would have gotten away with the crime except the cans were full! That messed up the machine and drew attention of store security. They called the police who came to the store and figured out her master plan. She was arrested and charged with being a complete idiot among other charges.
